The Entrance, Central Coast, Australia
Yay you’ve decided to book your photo session! The next thing you need to ask yourself is…. Where should we do our family photos? What are the best photoshoot locations on the Central Coast? Before you start stressing or doing late night scrolls through pintrest, have a read of my tips…
1. What does the location mean to you?
One way of choosing your location, is asking yourself “Where do I feel at home? This could be your actual home or somewhere you feel at home. It could be a place personally significant to you like a your favourite beach or a bush reserve where your kids play. Think about something that is unique and special for your family. Above all you want to feel really good and comfortable in the environment.
2. Choose a location based on something you love!
Do you love the beach? The Central Coast has so many amazing beaches. We are so lucky we have so many to choose from, seriously take your pick! For example some of my favourites for photos include Lakes Beach, Norah Head, Bateau Bay Beach, Soldiers Beach and Spoon Bay.

Or maybe you are a complete home body and love nothing more than hanging out at home in your happy place. Your kids will be so gratfeul to have photos to look back on where they grew up! Maybe I could capture you having a bake off with your kids or you and your family having a game of backyard cricket. There is something truly special of documenting your families daily life.
3. Love the outdoors?
There are many beautiful spots to visit on the Central Coast. We could visit the Somersby Falls, a perfect spot for family photos with added adventure! Hike across the bridge at Strickland State Forest and explore the lush rainforest.
Prefer something a little more chilled? There are lots of fields and rustic areas where we can explore and watch the sunset.
4. Convenience
When considering your shoot location think of everyone. Would a long car trip be too much for your little one? Maybe a grumpy husband that is reluctant all together? Make it simple and easy for everyone. So instead of driving an hour to an epic location, think about something that might be a little closer to home, to make it less stressful for you and your family.
Happy kids are always a priority, so picking a location that is age appropriate for your kids is important. Nothing worse than a mouth full of sand for your 1 year old or the constant worry that your toddler may run onto a nearby road.
Have a think about what makes you and your family happy and base your photo session around that! At Willow and Rose Photography I love to do outdoor family photo sessions. My clients love going on adventures during our shoots, my aim is for us to always leave as friends! Contact me today for more information about my family portrait sessions on the Central Coast.
