I’m a mum, a coffee lover, and someone who really gets how much the little moments matter. I’m here to capture the love, the joy, and the feeling of what life looks like right now - so you can remember it always.
A Stress-Free Style Guide by Willow and Rose Photography

One of the most common questions I get before a session is:
“What should we wear to our photo session?
And I get it. Choosing outfits for multiple people (especially with kids involved) can feel overwhelming. But the good news? It doesn’t have to be complicated.
This guide will help you feel confident, cohesive and completely you, so your photos feel timeless, expressive and full of life.
The days of everyone in jeans and white shirts are long gone.
Instead of matching exactly, choose 3–4 coordinating colours and spread them across the family. Think harmony, not uniform.
Start with:
This creates depth and interest without looking busy.

I really want to say this clearly:
Don’t be afraid to wear colour.
One of the biggest ways you can express yourself in your photos is through what you wear. Colour tells a story. It sets the mood. It brings energy.
And right now? Colour is having a moment and I am here for it.
I love the way colour makes an image feel alive.
A big chunky coloured knit layered over a flowing skirt
A bright pink dress in a field of green
Rust, cobalt, emerald, deep red
Rich tones that feel bold and confident
Gone are the days of strictly all-white and beige outfits. While neutrals are beautiful, adding colour can elevate your gallery from soft to striking.
If you love colour in real life, bring it to your session. It will feel authentic to you and that’s what matters most.

Let’s also retire the myth that you can’t wear black.
Black at the beach? Stunning.
Dark tones against the blue water create the most beautiful contrast. Deep chocolate, navy, charcoal or classic black can look incredibly powerful and timeless especially in coastal sessions.
Dark colours photograph beautifully in natural light when styled intentionally.
So no, you don’t have to avoid black.

This is especially important.
Choose something you feel beautiful and comfortable in, then build everyone else around that.
When Mum feels confident, it changes the entire energy of the session. And that shows in your photos.
If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help you plan.

Choose outfits you can move in.
We will be walking, cuddling, playing, twirling, chasing little ones and soaking in connection. If you’re tugging at fabric or adjusting straps, it takes you out of the moment.
Comfort creates connection.
